Hi Iria

Thank you so much for sending such a detailed reply to my posting.   The records cover the family well and give me other areas of research.   Your offer for 1901 is the first I have seen and I may  just come back for more.

Merry Christmas

Gerry

Hi
My name is Nick Slinger and Tempest Slinger was my granddad.  I've got a few scanned photos if you need any and I can tell you a bit about the family.  My father, John Tempest Slinger took over his solicitors practise in Accrington.

Nick

Hello Nick

Thanks for connecting with my  posting of 2004. My interest in the Slinger family stems from my paternal great-great grandmother, Mary Ellen Slinger (1857-1929) one of eleven children born to Nicholas Slinger (1816-1898) and Jane Seed (1823-1900).  Another sister, Elizabeth Alice Slinger (1852-1900) married into the Nutter family who claim to be descended from Alice Nutter who was hanged in Lancaster prison in 1612 as one of the Pendle Witches .  The youngest sibling was George Nicholas Slinger (1865-1923) who founded a solicitor's practice.  He also had a distinguished military career.  My research ended with my paternal grandparents so I have no use for the photographs you kindly offered.  I would think your father, Tempest Slinger, took over this practice founded by his ancestor, George Nicholas Slinger.   The Slinger family can be traced to around 1500.
