Hello Scotty60,    all i have on the Marr`s family is Anne Marr born 1782 who married my James Combs her   parents  were Peter Marr & Ann Bruce.       Gladys1 :)
Apparently I am not familiar yet with how to comment on each individual post, I hope this works. If not, would love to get some solid genealogy on the Marr line from East Lothian, Dunbar :)
I have quite a lot from my ancestry.com but I haven't a clue if it is all correct.

Hi Pool88,

Welcome to RootsChat :)

Everyone on this thread should have received notification of your reply, but maybe they are no longer following this line of research at the moment ?

It may be worth your time starting off a new topic on your Marr's ;)

Regards

Sarah

Gerry

Just signed onto this yesterday and picked up on your note last year.

Thought you would like to know, your grandfather Charles Marr had a brother Alfred Marr who married Mary Hogg. They in turn had a son Fred Marr (who I have just learnt sadly recently passed away) and a daughter Margaret Thomson Marr who married John Turner in 1945. Margaret & John are my parents (Mum is now 87 and Dad is 89).

Hope all is well?

Cheers, Ian

Good evening.

My name is Shona Marr (Fred Marrs grand daughter). Think that I am the 17th generation of Marr in North Berwick.

Lovely to meet you Ian!!

Good evening!!

Obviously quite a few years behind. But I have my/ours family tree for the Marrs from 1654 in North Berwick. My father (Chris Marr) passed away 7 years ago. But I was lucky that he had left me our family tree.

Hi all,
I am very late in joining this interesting thread. I am a great-grandson of Annie Marr (1868-1920), daughter of Robert Marr and Martha Sloan (from Co Antrim, NI). Annie married John Davidson Phillips Robertson. My grandfather, George Robertson, was one of their children.
I have a Family Tree on Ancestry (which I had thought was extensive but appears not!). It covers many Marrs but there are many more Marrs I now see!

Hi Shona,
(See post 40 here)
We seem to be related as descendants of Dunbar/North Berwick Marr family. I am descended from Robert Marr and Martha Sloan through their daughter Annie (my g-grandmother). I would like to make contact and exchange family tree information with you (or any other Marr relations!).
I’m on holiday in North Berwick for the next few days. I’ve already seen a plaque for Fred Marr on a wall beside the harbour. I’ve taken a photo but I don’t have any Fred Marr in my Tree on Ancestry (as yet). Any help would be appreciated.
I have made contact with some other descendants of Robert Marr/Martha Sloan from around the world through 23AndMe. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned.
Hope to get some response here too.
Nice sunny day here today, I’m off to the local graveyard for a look around this morning (not planning to stay though!).
Stuart
