Henry HAYTER & Mary PATTY - St. Martin, Salisbury, Wiltshire
« on: Monday 10 September 07 06:20 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I know that my 5th great grandparents Henry Hayter and Mary Patty married in St. Martin, Salisbury, Wiltshire on 03 May 1778. However, I am unable to find any definate records of their births.

I have so far come up with two possible dates for each person:
Henry Hayter: 1747, 1753
Mary Patty: 1751, 1757

I do know that they were both born and most likely christened in in St. Martin, Salisbury, Wiltshire.

I really need birth, or morelikely, christening records to set the record straight and hopefully find out their parents names.

Any help of advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Stephen

Thanks for taking the time to check, Alli.

This looks like some interesting stuff. I'll see how it may fit when I get my internet connection up and running.

Where did you find these baptisms?

Hello, my ancestry is related to John and Jane Hayter who lived in St Martin's Wiltshire in 1891.  Their daughter, Ellen was born in Toronto, Canada in 1885.  I'm trying to find details of their emigration to Canada, Ellen's birth certificate and the date of their return to Britain and which ship they sailed on.

I am also searching for their marriage certificate.   Could they have married on board ship or met and married in Canada ?  Or not be married at all.

John Hayter was born in Upper Wallop Hampshire in 1844, Jane was born in Woburn Sands, Bedfordshire in 1854.  I do not know Jane's maiden name.
