1876 Llancynfelin Schoolmaster RICHARD MORRIS
« on: Tuesday 11 September 07 23:06 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
I have just discovered that an ancestor of mine RICHARD MORRIS b 1846 Llangernyw, Denbighshire, became a schoolmaster for a schoool in Llancynfelin in approx 1876. His wife Ann Maria also worked at the school according to a web site I have just viewed, teaching needlework. I know very little about this ancestor as he left the family background, never to be heard of again until now! Richard is also noted as a Calvinistic Methodist Preacher, but I don't have any idea on which Church as yet. I was just wondering if anyone can enlighten me any further on Llancynfelin, Taliesin, Tre'r Ddol please as these are place names that have cropped up since I began looking for this person.
Ann Maria was born in Llanfihangel y Creiddyn in 1844.
Many Thanks
Regards
Nerys

See also http://www.llangynfelin.org/  an excellent bi-lingual web site with extracts from numerous records.   You may also find it on google - The Parish of Llangynfelin.

My great grandfather, Jonathan Jones, and family lived in the village at the end of the 19th century too.

Cheers Dave
