anyone know the parents of erasmus baptised 31/03/1577 puddletown, he married margerie gillet 1605.
I know there is a helen genge marrying a john gillet in 1563, but thats the wrong way round !!!

Not sure if there is a connection but I went to Dorchester today and spotted, above a shop on the corner of the High Street and Trinity Street, "Genge" carved in the stonework.  The shop below has been modernised but would have been well-placed for a market town.  Sadly I did not have my camera with me.  I don't go to Dorchester very often but if you would like a photo send me a pm.

Hi I have Genge ancestors in Somerset and would love a copy of a photo of the 'Genge' name above that shop in Dorset if you ever manage to get it. I realise it is many ywars since you worte that particular post.

Unfortunately I no longer need to go to Dorchester but you might be able to see the shop using Google Maps.

Genge's was a department store - now long since closed and demolished.  In its day was just the place to take afternoon tea.
