I would love to see this in colour :)

Hi everyone

This is a photo of my Granny Mabel  abt 1914...she is the one to the left of her mum sitting on the chair/table ?  She had blue eyes...not sure about her sisters and mum.

I thought it would be lovely to see them all with a bit of colour

This is the Mum and Dad of all the girls in previous pic .... Colour would be fab ... I am hoping to send it to my dad as his Grandad (in this picture) was his FAVE granddad ... Thanks sooooo much!

I know it came out very large, but that is good. It is pity that it is only 150dpi. Is there any chance of just a B&W  at 300 or 600 so we can do these beauties justice?

Nevertheless here's my 1st colour effort.

Blimey Sutton rog ...How brilliant !!! Fabulous ...it's rather strange that you should have coloured her socks in blue and not black , as I had had the same thought .... ESP maybe ....

PS ..the colour of the photo is sepia ... do you think I should make it B&W ... I have no idea about the other stuff

It is so great ...I didn't even notice my Gr Granny , mary jane , had a blue long skirt on, when looking at the sepia coloured photo ...WOW!

It's just that you have a 500k limit and it is obviously a large photo. Even though it is sepia it is scanned in colour and a colour scan takes 4 times as much space as a greyscale. You therefore can get 4 times the detail in the same file size.

It's odd but I preview the changes on my screen, but don't notice the bits I've missed until it appears on here. The skirt should be fuller.

I don't know how to thank you ...they are brilliant ...I just showed my husband and he cannot believe how fab they look ...How do you go about choosing the colours ?  It's so strange , i love the B&W pics but the colour ones do tend to show more detail ...eg: I had not noticed that my gr Granddad had a fob watch ...how weird is that? 

Should I scan the pic of the daughters in B&W and save and then post? as I said before ..I am completely clueless when it comes to all the 'jargon' ...

PS I also notice that you tidied up my rather ugly oval shape ... That's what happens when you have have oval frames LOL

I have no doubt that you will get better efforts. The good ones take longer.

If you go to the postings at the top of this forum Caz has great tips on scanning that explain them better than I can.
