 Hi I would suggest the surname is Kilroe.  ? Not Killrow

thanks.........there are Kilroes in Roscommon as ive been there, but my family papers are all spelt Killrow...........so im stuck...........Sook

 Hi snook,I understand your problem, if the name was taken from a cert or census, it could often be spelt the way it sounded to the person. Hence Killrow.
 Scepticism is necessary with regard to name's dates and age's of that era.The actual date of birth given,is often well before that time.
 And surnames. Example. Kilfoyle,Gilfoyle, Guilfoile.

Ola Lep...(sorry, i live in Spain).........on ships papers for the navy a son was listed as born in Balnagar, Roscommon.....cant find that anywhere either!!....Ireland side of my family very hard to trace!!!!!!!!!!

Ola to You Snoop ;D Balnagar souds more like spanish than Irish.  ;D
                            I will look  around tomorrow,see if we can come up with anything close.
            I am sure you know that most of the Irish records were burnt in 1922.
so Irish ancestry  is hard.
        Try putting down all the information you have no matter how insignificant it may appear.

Ola Lep,........been issing down here all day so cant send any sunshine your way!!! ...but thanks that would be brilliant, do you live in Ireland?....i havent got much info really other than my great,great, great Grandad Patrick Killrow was born in Roscommon around 1800 and was a farmer, he had a son William Patrick who went into the Navy and was married in Plymouth in  1857 and by then his Dad had died, so he died young, ...thats about all i know really.......SOOK......
