I've only just looked at the Kirkcudbrightshire site after a VERY long gap. It seems possible we do have a connection. I'm sorry it has been so long but I'm quite happy, even eager, to see if we can swap information. I am on GenesReunited (via my wife) and can give you access to my tree if that would help. Otherwise just reply. I won't be so long replying this time!

Hi Ken

So very excited to hear from you.  I have been researching my family history for a little while now and from the information that I have gathered thus far when I read your posting I knew that there must be a family connection.  Would very much like to make contact so that we can swap notes.  You can email me directly if you would like.  My email address is  *  Looking forward to hearing from you.

Just read your message,

Don't build up hopes - I've long since learned not to. Can't do much tonight - it's VERY late but I promise an e-mail tomorrow evening with what I have but it may be sparse. Signing off.....

Hi guys,

I am also descended from Thomas Davidson and Jane Gerrat, through their daughter Agnes and her husband John Shaw.

I also found the workhouse death record for Thomas, however I wasn't completely sure it was him as there is no info on it regarding any family members or anything that proves it's the same Thomas Davidson.

And, like you, I cannot for the life of me find a death record for Jane!

Have you managed to find out anything more about this line since you last posted?
