Hi, back again and birth and marriage certs have arrived!

Beatrice birth cert shows Joseph her father as a tin plate worker, living at Wenlock Cottage, Wellington Passage, Cheltenham. Q)Where can I find out what this address was like?

The marriage cert is a Beatrice Victoria Coombs to a Tom Charles Donnoll Booth on 21.05.1904, living at Glen View, Crumlin, Newport. Both fathers christian name is Joseph. Her fathers occupation is listed as Colliery Timberman. Is this the same as tin plateworker?

Is it possible that this is the correct BVC and she married Tom before then marrying Harold? My grandmother Phyllis Eleanor was born 1909  and her sister Iris is yiounger. So did they marry after having 1 or both children  afer 1909. Rose was rumoured to be adopted.

Dont know if Harold was in WW1 or not.

Still need to find link to Harrold, any help??
thanks

Thats certainly her ! I looked on an earlier Census and Joseph was previously a TinPlate Worker.

In 1901 he was a colliery underground worker - 'Lumberman' is 'Timberman' ....

1901 - RG13/4967; Folio: 44; Page: 28 - Abercarn
Glenvine Terrace

Joseph Coombs 62  Head Lumberman Labourer - underground (coal mining related) Worcs, Bengeworth

Sooooooooo she did marry previously - what was her age on the Cert ?

Given the total lack of success previously, I'd have to wonder if they did marry ?

Suggest you staret a new thread - copying in my 1901 find for the Coombes, and your Certificate info and ask if anybody else can see her 2nd marriage ..

 :)

That's great!. I thought it sounded too similar not to be same person. She was 17 when she married Tom. My aunt has just told me that apparently she married 4 times in total. So twice after Harold it seems.
Also told that Harold was in WW1 stationed at Omskirk in Lancashire in  the Cavalry regiment, so will be checking that out for links.

I will start a new thread on Beatrice but not sure how to copy in!

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Stella, how did you get on with your search? I am Harold great granddaughter from his second marriage. We didn't know anything about his first family.
Big surprise for us! 😮😄

Stellajones has not been on here since 2013, but if she's around and using the same email, she will see a notification of a reply. Fingers crossed for you.
