Where to purchase a birth certificae

Can someone please tell me the best place to order a birth certificate for someone born in Tullow c1884?  I have been quoted anything from US$60 upwards.  Thanks

Or you can just get a photocopy of the birth record for just 6 euros from the same place.

There seems to be quite a difference in the cost of a birth cert 8) What do you get for the extra US$50. ???

These are really helpful responses. I don't know what extra the quotation would give me from what I have read, the answer is not a lot.
