Hi,
Thanks for the offer.
I have been looking for years for the marriage of Michael Clyne and Rebecca [may be HIGGINS] although I have various surnames for her. The first child was born c1850 but the child's baptism where the Higgins surname was mentioned was 1854.
Someone has already done a Lamberton Toll look-up for me but don't know if Foulden and Mordington are entered in this.
Thanks,
Rae

Hi there, Sorry I couldnt help with that as the book I have is only gravestones in the Foulden and Mordington cemeteries, in Berwickshire and there are no CLYNE's or HIGGINS in there. However, I have a book of all the surnames listed in East Lothian taken from the Old Parish Registers,, and both CLYNE and HIGGINS are in that. Maybe you could try East Lothian(The next county to Berwickshire?) Good luck anyway.

Thanks a lot for looking that up for me. At least I can rule these two out now.

I am looking for Clazey or any variation of that spelling.  Still searching after nearly 10 years for either the death or marriage of John Clazy or Clazey or Claizy and Isabella Oswald.  I noticed the name of Tough in your list of names...my line comes down from Peter Tough and Ann Keith married 1833, Aberdeenshire.  Have not found his birth or father either!

Thank you.

Hi There
I havent come across the name Clazey or any of the other spellings of it so far, but I will look out for it. My TOUGH's are a problem too, and it doesnt help when they change to TUFF either lol. The furthest back I have with mine is Charles TOUGH who was a stonemason, but he was born in 1801 in Rescobie, Angus(Forfarshire), and brothers James and William Still hunting for his father...no doubt a Charles as well as that name haunts me in this family hehehe.
Good hunting!

Thank you for looking.  You are haunted by a Charles...we are haunted by an Alexander...maybe!  Peter Tough had a son James and that is my line.  His son, Alexander, was a stonemason and when he came to the United States became a contractor.  Peter was not born in Aberdeen and that is the sticking place.  He had a brother, Alexander. But have found nothing beyond that!

Hi cavvytri,

Thanks for your kind offer. Do you have any Burnets in Foulden? I think I have proved a connection to them. So far, I have Margaret Burnet, christened 1779 in Foulden, daughter of Thomas Burnet and Margaret Smith. She married Adam Home/Hume in 1803. Other children to Thomas and Margaret were Agness (1792), Isable (1785) and Mary (1789). Mary possibly married a relation (brother?) of Adam Hume in 1808.

Thanks again,
hume24 :)

Hi Hume24.
There is only one BURNET listed in Foulden cemetery, and it says it is on a wall

Here lyes the corps of JAMES, JOHN, CATHERIN, JOHN BURNETS children to JOHN BURNET.

Thats all it says, must be a really old one as there are no dates etc mentioned.
