John & Mary Ann PEARL Births - Bury St Edmonds
« on: Saturday 29 September 07 07:13 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Please if there is some one who could look at the Bury St. Edmunds PRs for the births of John William Pearl born c1813 and Mary Ann Pearl born + or - 2 years?
I have the following information:-

1803 John Pearl married Elizabeth Traice. They had the following children
Herny Robert bap.8/5/1803   Great Welnetham.
Francis Mary  bap.18/4/1805            "
Charles Sidney bap.20/4/1807         "
Robert bap. 20/6/1810                     "
Then a gap
Frederick James bap. 20/4/1820  Bury St. Edmunds
William  bap. 27/3/1823                         "
Could this gap be filled with John & Mary?
I would be very grateful for any help in this matter
regards
John Pearl

Hi John
I am sorry i can't help with your inquiry, yet !.
But am interested in the Pearl name myself, my g g aunt married a pearl from Brettenham in the early 1900.
I just wonder if there could be a connection.

Hello William,
Thank you for your reply,do you know the full name of the Pearl your gg aunt married? Whilst I don't think any of my mob came from Bretenham, you never know do you? It's good to actually get a reply let alone another interest in Pearls.
Keep in touch

Hi John.
Have just come back from Suffolk and have looked at the records for Bury St Edmond's and could find no mention of your Pearl family at all.

Hi John
The only thing i can think to do would be to go through all the Suffolk parish records till you find them.
As i don't live in Suffolk it will have to wait till i go again and i will look.
Sorry this is the only thing i can think of.

Hi - it's probably too late for me to respond but here goes anyway: I have Pearls in my family tree from Brettenham, Rattlesden, Hitcham etc right back to 1541 when they seem to spring from nowhere in Rattlesden (John Pearle, Yeoman).  The Samuel Pearl mentioned is in my family tree, as is Rebecca Calver(t). I would be happy to give more info if required.

I have a Pearl in a marriage certificate. Am tracing O'Neill (Bury-St-Edmunds).

Jan.25th 1902 Henry O'Neill married Louisa Palmer (widow) at Bury-St-Edmunds Henry was 28. Louisa 33, her father was Edmund Charles Pearl (Decd). He was a Stable Proprietor. A witness was a Robert James Pearl x his mark. I haven't been able to find death or remarriage of either Henry or Louisa.

Probably doesn't help any one, but thought I would add it.
O'Neill - Co. Clare, Ireland, Framlingham, Bury-St-Edmunds, Halesworth.
Vice, Vyce - Framlingham.
