Thorton Le Fen WELLS Look Up Please
« on: Thursday 04 October 07 23:00 BST (UK) »
Could someone please look up the birth/bapt PR/AT of Grace Wells in Thornton Le Fen in 1887. He father was James Well and I would like to know her Mother's name as James was a widow in the 1891 census.
Thanks.

FreeBMD has this birth which looks like it might be your Grace:

Births Dec 1887
Grace WELLS
district: Boston (which covers Thornton LF)
volume: 7a
page: 415

This is the information you require to purchase her birth certificate online here:
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

You can pay a little extra to check that the father is James. Her mother's name will be on the birth certificate.

Good luck.

The National Burial Index has the following burial at Wildmore (Thornton le Fen)

18 June 1889 Mary Elizabeth WELLS aged 25

I can't spot a useful marriage.

Thanks, but I need to know the baptism date, and hopefully it will also show her Mother's name (forename at least, and perhaps maiden name). I know who she married and when she died, but I don't know her Mother. I could order her birth certificate but I have spent enough on certificates recently so I was hoping that if anyone was visiting the record office they could so a quick look up.
