Maes-Y-Dro
« on: Saturday 06 October 07 12:31 BST (UK) »
Hello, looking in a CD directory I bought I came across a possible near match for my GGF at Maes-Y-Dro or someting similar. Google maps cant find it. It should be in the Tryddyn/Mold area of Flintshire if anyone is able to help. It may also be that it is an address with Maes-Y-Dro being a street. I have tried to attach a copy.

Kind Regards
Peter Euston

......bit of info..... the row of cottages to the northwestern of Mold, known as Maes-y-Dre.

Maes-y-Dre is known for being the birthplace of the novelist Daniel Owen, Mold's most famous son.

Hello, thanks to both of you for your replies. The reason I was asking is that my GF was supposedly from Tryddyn in Nth Wales so I bought a CD of 25 different directories and found this William Hooson in 1876 at 14 Maes Y Dre which is only 4.9 miles from Tryddyn. My GGF was William EUSTON so I am chasing any possible similarities. My GF was Walton Harry EUSTON (see posts elsewhere) but I cannot find ANY EUSTON'S in Wales. William's wife was Mary (or Mabel Mary) NEWTON and William was a veterinary surgeon. In the directory I was looking at it shows William as a shop keeper, but not what sort of shop.
Searching on Freecen I found William in 1871 & 1891 but not in 1881???
Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong family tree after all.

Thankyou again and Kind Regards
Peter Euston.

My relative lived in the house next to Daniel Owen and the kids went to school with him. Being Welsh thats so interesting. I think the house was the left one as you look at DOwens's
