**COMPLETE (I think)** Looking for Samuel Tutt, born Hailsham c.1808
« on: Monday 15 October 07 15:04 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for any details of the birth of Samuel Tutt, who was born in Hailsham or thereabouts in about 1808 according to the census of 1851. The 1841 census has him in Hailsham and his age was rounded down to 30.

He died later the same year so I have no further verification of the info of his birth.

Also, details of his marriage are proving a bit tricky to find. He was married to an Elizabeth, and they look to have had a daughter born in about 1837. The census info would seem to show that Elizabeth was born in about 1819, so I would assume the wedding could not have been much before 1835 at the very earliest.

Any help most gratefully received

Thanks

Glen

Eventually getting my head together and viewing the Hailsham baptism records that I now know Brighton History Centre has (d'oh!) I found a Samuel Tutt born in 1806 in Hailsham, so I am as confident as I can reasonably hope to be that this is my man.

Thanks for looking and helping Chris

Do you know if Samuel Tutt had any siblings.  I am looking for any information on George Tutt born approx. 1801.

Hello Titch Tutt

Sorry, I haven't found a sibling of Samuel's named George, but that doesn't mean he didn't have one. It took me so long to find Samuel, that I didn't go through the rest of the records to see if there were any others.
