Hi Piper
Welcome to Rootschat!
I am researching Whartons but they originated from Barnard Castle in County Durham. If you trace yours back to that area let me know!
Bell, Salter, Street - Devon, Middlesbrough.
Lickess- North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough.
Etherington - North Yorks and Durham.
Barker- North Yorks
Crooks- Durham
Forster- North Yorks/Durham
Newsam, Pattison, Proud - North Yorks.
Timothy, Griffiths, Jones - South Wales

Hi Piper,
Welcome to RootsChat

I, as far as I know have no connection to your tree, but would love to help you get started on this line.

Do you have any more information?

Do you have Albert Wharton /Daisy Woolnough's marriage cert?

How old was Albert when he died -or Daisy?

Was Albert b. Cleethorpes?

What year was their eldest child born?

Dis Albert/Daisy have a middle name?

Sorry for all the questions, but any snippet of info will help with the search.

Just found Daisy Elizabeth's birth
Dec qtr 1909
Mutford district
4a 1079

Mutford reg district covers part of Suffolk/part of Norfolk

It's important to remember birth, marriage, deaths records give the disrict in which they were registered-which is not necessarily the actual town/village where they were born -but a town/village which comes under a certain registration district.

This looks like Daisy's death reg

Daisy Elizabeth Wharton
born 22 Oct 1909
died 1989
age 80
Grimsby district
Volume 7 page 549

If you get their marriage certificate it should give the name and occupations of their fathers-also the names of witnesses are helpful, as sometimes they are family members.

Birth certificates give parents names and mothers maiden name

Once you have those we can begin to trace back through the census
