Hi Nick,

I have been thinking about Ann Glenton.  It may be that she was born in the workhouse in Beverley & registered there but baptized at Long Riston in Dec 1842 because I cannot find a birth registered for Dec 1842/Jan 1843 in the Skirlaugh area.

I have found:
Brandsburton (Skirlaugh Registration District)
24th Nov 1801  Marriage of Robert Glenton serv & Mary Donkin spin botp witnesses; Fanny Grayburn & Robert Hall
19th Mar 1814  Bapt of Robert Glenton s of Robert & Mary Glenton lab
9th Sep 1818  Bapt of Hannah Glenton d of Robert & Mary Glenton lab
14th Nov 1837  Bapt of George Glenton s of Hannah Glenton, Sempstress

On the 1841 Census at Brandsburton (all born Yorkshire)
Robert Glenton      60        Ag Lab
Mary Glenton        60
Hannah Glenton    20        Dressmaker
Miriam Glenton    15
George Glenton      3

I don’t know if this will help or hinder, probably not connected at all, but you may be able to rule out this family now you have this information.

Thank you Gill for all your hard work. Have been giving info on Ann Glenton, someone on another chat line has order the birth cert of Ann and she was born at the work house in Bridlington in 1841 so that solves that one !

Nick-I have Glenton family history, and the Hodgson family-two Ann Hodgson' married into the Glenton family.I have two Hannah's but I don't think they are the one-one born 1805 at Flamborough.Alice (Ellis) was my 4xgt gran. The Flamborough Fishing Families is VERY helpful -but there are occasional errors.Regards,Jeano
