Although part of the same Union from 1835, along with several other parishes, they are seperate buildings. The East Grinstead workhouse at this time stood somewhere in London Road, but I can't find out exactly where at the moment. Going by the 1851 census, it would be somewhere near what is now King Street. It was the fore-runner of the one that opened in Glen Vue (now Railway Approach) in 1859.

I found this site on Lingfield workhouse, which I've never come across before and is well worth a read;

I have found a marriage between a George Chapman & Eliza (Elizabeth)Roberts 1833 Tonbridge. Would there be any possibles for them on the 1841. This is just a long shot!!!!
