Sorry should have checked before posting
FreebMD for catherine

CATHARINE WILLIAMS Mar Qtr 1850 Helston Vol 9 Page 82

I have learnt the hard way to do seaches without firstname if you can't find it, the variation in names/spelling in Cornwall is extreme..as you have both no doubt found

This 1850 death is Catherine/CAtharine aged 84
so is not the daughter of William and Catherine, but Williams' wife

I first mentioned the Elizabeth connection because of the children mentioned at Gemoe if you look at the banns and thats where you get the Richards connection?? does that explain

The Elizabeth richards with Catherine given age could be even more distant relation

A Jane Piper marries also marries a Richards at Germoe 1803

Hi John
Great to hear your wealth of info on the areas, so hard for those of us on other side of the world

IF you check out my banns you will see the match for ELizabeth Piper and RICHARDS that you were after 2 dec 1776

Hi Althea....

seen that one  :-[ ... if you look at the date of my Elizabeth WILLIAMS she is baptised in 1797 so I ruled out the 1776 marriage as a none starter.... you may see my logic in that one....  ;)

we all do it  see what we want to see ...as you get blinded by what we are looking for   ::)

AND... BIG thanks for the Death Registery reference.... I will be ordering that over the weekend... takes about 7-10 days for a copy

regards
john

The Elizabeth I mentioned the marriage for was PIPER to a Richards.
Sorry I hadn't got into the Williams side fully. Thinking she may be Catherines sister??

What are your Williams brickwalls, perhaps if you start another thread, we can look at those
Bye
Althea  :)

Hi Althea and Phil

I have recieved the Death Cert' ref: 1850 1Q Helston Vol 9 Pge 194 (not 82 as shown on Ancestry.com).....

Well not what I was expecting....?

DETAILS:
Where and When died : 8th February 1850 Mountwistle Breage[/color]
Name and Surname : Catharine WILLIAMS
Sex : Female
Age : 84 years
Occupation : Widow of John WILLIAMS Miner
Cause of Death : Old Age No medical treatment
Signature, description and residence of informant : X The Mark of James THOMAS Present at the death Mountwistle Breage
When Registered : 8th February 1850
Signature of Registrar : T. MITCHELL

So this at first does not look like my Catherine Williams the wife of William Williams

( I haven't ruled out the possibility that this may be the correct Catherine that I am looking for, as the details all fit but the Husband's FirstName....
........and as the son of my Catherine was named John then there is always a chance that the recording of the event maybe inaccurate)

Have to keep looking... more cert's to apply for.

Regards
John

I thought this was the one.
The details certainly fit perfectly for the Catherine that is with Elizabeth Richards in 1841 census. There just are no other fits in all of Cornwall looking at FreeCen.

OK. So given its right the possibilities then John WIlliams marriage to a catherine
http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/moreinfo.php?ID=306329&dbtype=marriages sadly there is a match at Breage 25-Apr 1789.

Tried to find a link via James Thomas, there is one living at Mount Whislte so suppose that was informant
,,,260,13,45,,Mount Whistle,THOMAS,James,Head,Mar,M,54,Tin Miner,Cornwall,Breage,
,,,260,13,45,,,THOMAS,Margaret,Wife,Mar,F,61,,Cornwall,Breage,
,,,260,13,45,,,THOMAS,Joseph,Son,U,M,24,Tin Miner,Cornwall,Breage,
,,,260,13,45,,,THOMAS,William,Son,U,M,22,Tin Miner,Cornwall,Breage,

So this would appear then to be the widow of John Married 1789
HEr baptism either http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/moreinfo.php?ID=729927&dbtype=baptisms or http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/moreinfo.php?ID=730010&dbtype=baptisms
