Hello,
I am looking for the death of Mary Cubitt Siely Chiny Lewis who was born in 1827 Walcott, Norfolk.    The 1871 Census - Workhouse, Smallburgh, Norfolk. recorded -
Mary Lewis, pauper - unmarried- age 43 born Walcot (with four children)
Lillian age 12, Helen age 9, Excelsior age 8 and Laura age 7.   

Any information about this family would be appreciated.  Many thanks, Grace Parker

In 1881 Excelsior is a servant:

Westwick House
Westwick (home of John Berney Petre)

Excelsior Lewis  17  born St Faiths, Norfolk,  Hall Boy

i'd say this is a likely death, but the workhouse did not bother with all her initials! but getting the cert would confirm:

Ap/May/Jun 1871 (must have been just after the census)

I cant find obvious marriages or deaths for the girls before 1881, nor can I obviously find them in 1881 (I am assuming they were born Norfolk, though, is this correct?)

It might be worth contacting the local Racord office to see if any workhouse records have survived, to see if there is any indication when / where the children were discharged.
