(Somerset) 1841/1851/1861 Census lookup Requests Please For Louisa Rossiter

Hi,

I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter Family and am looking for information please about the parents, siblings and children of Louisa Rossiter born circa 1832 in Bath.

She married John  Gay at Holy Trinity, Paulton in the March Quarter Of 1855.

Any information would be greatly appreciated please. TIA.

John Gay 28 b Midsomer Norton occ grocer
Louisa 29 b Bath

1871 for Paulton

2 children both b Paulton - Emily 9 and John J or T aged 2

Louisa is now shown as b Paulton in 1871 so this could well be the 1851 for her - particularly as her daughter is called Emily

All b Paulton except mum Louisa

John Rossiter 40  carpenter
Louisa Rossiter 40  b Hampshire
Louisa Rossiter 19
Emily Rossiter 14 
Sarah Rossiter 12

1841 for Paulton is indexed as Ropiter - no additional children

Many thanks for that.

I have that family in my database and thanks to you have now been able to link Louisa with her family.

The John J/T you mentioned must have been born about 1869 when Louisa the mother would have been at least 58. Just wondering if John  is the child of one of Emily's older sisters.

Can't find a birth for John J/T on FreeBMd & can't find a marriage certificate for Louisa's parents.

think this might be john gay birth
name. john stewart gay.

county. somerset.
vol. 5c.
page. 664.
on the 1871 census john is transcribed as john.s.gay which would tie in with the birth above
clutton is the reg.dist for paulton.

don't know where you get 58 from or was that a typing error.

Unfortunately, the John Gay in this instance marries Louisa in 1855 but maybe John Stewart Gay is his son.

rcuser the john stewart gay i posted is i believe the john j/t born in 1869
which would be john and louisas son.

i would suggest that john j/t gay is in fact john stewart gay.
