Pulteneytown - Do these streets still exist?
« on: Wednesday 24 October 07 15:18 BST (UK) »
My great grandfather was Thomas Anderson and was born at Bank Row on 21 Sept 1858.
Prior to that I believe his parents, and his wifes parents lived in Salton Street.
I see from google maps that both streets still exist today.
However, does anybody know whether they have been redeveloped?
If not, can anyone tell me how I could obtain photographs of both streets?
I do not know house numbers or house names.

Thanks
Dave

You should find something on caithness .org, maybe this link may help.

Thanks Jim,
I've had a few PMs with links to various parts of that site.
I've now written to the Wick Heritage Centre for a bit more info.
Considering a visit next year.
I live in Glasgow and could get a return flight from Edinburgh to Wick for about £94.

Had a wee glance on your website to see if there were tie ups as the name allan seemed to appear, is the access, fully restricted to password for any views.

The Allan's in the tree are all from Aberdeen and only related to me through marriage so don't have too much info.
You should be able to see everything on the site by entering visitor password:  aldav5257.

Caithness families are Anderson, Green and Oag / Ogg.

Thanks very much I will have wee look, never know when a tie up may occur.

There was an Iain Sutherland who was a stalwart of the wick heritage, very knowledgible.

Good luck.

Your dates don't follow airdlass.
The daughter of Elspet F and Alexander Oag, Elizabeth (I have Elspet), was born circa 1757.
She couldn't have married John Gunn in 1758.
Can you clarify?
