Oh, and additional thanks for the WW1 link, as it led me to find Elizabeth Ann Dady's husband, Richard Sawyer, as well, who also joined up in 1916. I now have his birthdate and am tracing his roots in Southport.

I know there must be descendants of the these Dady, Sawyer and Garlick families in Canada, I just wish I could track some of them down.

http://findaperson.canada411.ca/ There are 22 Garlick listings in B.C....
Some are from the other Joseph...who still may well have been an uncle or cousin.... Two listed in Victoria, his last residence...
Once John has some information from the deaths, you may want to write
one or two of them....never know... J.J.

There is an email address to contact on this site that would cost nothing to try as well...from Victoria b.c.

I got copies of one marriage and two death records that were issued by the B.C. Vital Statistics. Once you have reviewed these and the other info others have provided, you might find others that are connected. I will get them when you let me know which ones.

I will pm you about getting these to you.

Thought you might be interested. I have a copy of a page from the Toronto Star in 1916, that has a photo of William Dady. If you would like, send me your email by Personal Message, and I will send it through to you.

If I find anything else, I can send that as well.

Here is the entire passenger list for W. Dady after serving his time in the war.

It is far too small for me to read.

I also have the page from the newspaper, that lists the men who returned on the same ship. (this page is too large to post here)
