Perthshire prison is 1851 - William Pride

Hi All,

Does anyone have information on the name of a Perthshire prison in 1851.  a relative was jailed in 1850 for theft, breach of trust and embezzlement at New Monkland, Lanarkshire and Kirkintilloch, dumbartonshire.

I have seen the census details but no address other than Perth is given.

He was born in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, England.

I would like to obtain a copy of his records but am unsure of where to enquire.

but the charge reads almost word for word whats in your post
so maybe you have seen it
it also gives a list of his victims

Thanks.  I found the archives and census material and am looking for an address for the prison in Perthshire.  Perhaps I will have to resort to snail mail.

I have just come across your post and would be very interested in any progess made by you.I too have a relative that was sentenced to 15months in Perth prison in 1863 and would also like a copy of any prison records,if it is possible.Would appreciate any advise.
