Please could you tell me how to put quotes in a blue background box.

Hi Gatacre

**Quote * THEN whatever it is you are quoting, then type **/Quote*

Asterisks are my alias for  square brackets  , so:

Instead of ** use [
Instead of * use ]

But if you are wanting to quote a message(reply)  which on the same topic you are writing to, just use the QUOTE button on the specific message(reply) , and RC will do the work for you - you can then choose to quote it all, or delete parts you don't want in the blue box that will appear when you hit save/reply

Gatacre ... don't worry about it ... RootsChat is such an amazing programme, I doubt that more than 5% of us know how to use everything on it !   


It took me about a year to find out how to change fonts and change colour ... and as for the clever stuff, like
 scrolling
... well it makes you quite dizzy just trying them all out !

I should go down on my knees and thank you for that.  After five months of not daring to ask and repeated pressing the change colour button and nothing happening, I have just learned how to do it, all thanks due to a true Rootchatter who mentioned the colour change.

 I could not understand, either, why the smilies did not appear as they do on the reply, itself, and had not realized that they were  keyboard symbols.  After repeadly deleting the symbols, I plucked up the courage to go on technical help.

Now I am  trying to follow "Berlin Bobs" instructions on putting photos and images and attachments in the message itself, not to mentioning resizing a photo but I think it will be next year before all that has been accomplished.

The main thing to know is that others get into the same situation.  It is no end encouraging
