North Lincolnshire Council have put their births, marriages and death indexes dating from 1837 onto their website www.northlincs.gov.uk/bmdsearch

If you are looking for a marriage which took place in the Glanford Brigg registration district and the couple appear in the GRO index but not the local index, please bear the following in mind:

"The reason why marriages may not appear in the North Lincolnshire indexes is because we do not hold the register and those in the old "current" registers were not included in the annual indexes. They all are now but some slipped the net!

There are only 6 village churches in North Lincolnshire where we haven't yet had a register deposited yet (since 1837)."


This information came from the Superintendent Registrar at North Lincolnshire Council.

Alkborough
Garthorpe - St Mary
Melton Ross - The Ascension
New Holland - Christ Church
Old Brumby - Church of Reconciliation
Whitton - St Johns
