Everitt/Everett Colchester
« on: Saturday 01 December 07 11:21 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the parents and siblings of James EVERITT, born abt. 1788 in Colchester, blacksmith.  He married Elizabeth Marsh 9 Feb 1812 in St Nicholas, Colchester.  They has several children and moved to Dovercourt in the mid 1820's.
There are also related EVERITT blacksmith's in Harwich but I have been unable to make the connection.
Grateful for any help. :'(

Hi spurc,

For what it's worth I found this one in Thaxted PRs:  Hannah Everitt married William Turner 8 Jul 1799 at Thaxted.

There are also a few Thaxted Everitts on the IGI you've probably already found them but just in case........
On batch # C043501 is a double baptism of Susan & Mary 1810.
On batch # M043501 there are six mariages 1792 to 1796.

They are a bit later than the time frame you are interested in but it might just provide a clue.  :)
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Thank you for the Thaxted idea - not mine unfortunately.
James & Elizabeth did have 2 daughters called Susan & Mary but Susan was not born until 1819 & Mary Ann 1814 so could not have been baptized 1810.
Many thanks anyway but I think I will have to search on.  Spurc
