Hi Harold,

A google search of the place only shows your own request on the Routard forum so I was wondering if the place really exists. Could it possibly read something else? Can you scan and post the bit of the cert where it gives the place name? Maybe someone knowledgeable will recognise it!  :)

(Et, entre francophones: Bonjour et bienvenue ici  :D)

J'ai oublié: Ici dans les look-up requests on ne peut attacher d'images, alors il faudrait commencer un nouveau fil sous Radnorshire (général)  ;)

The 1901 census shows his birthplace as Evenjobb: RG13/2498 folio 117 p8

Googling Evenjobb throws up this:

http://www.rgreen.org.uk/Evenjobb.html

which suggests that there is a nearby village called Walton.  Perhaps the certificate says "Nearby Walton" or similar?

J'ai ajouté un petit PS à mon post précédent. On peut pas attacher d'images ici. On se revoit dans Radnoshire général?

Sounds a good idea, Anna! I've just viewed the whole of Evenjobb (only 11 pages) for the 1891 census and there wasn't anything looking like nobley Walton  :P

In 1891 his birthplace is given as Old Radnor: RG12/4581 folio 28 p9

- which according to the Evenjobb link seems to be the name of the parish in which Walton is.  I think he was most likely born in or near Walton.
