Hello again Deb USA,

I'm afraid I didn't have much luck with the Birth (not Death) Certificate of Elizabeth Spiller, who I thought was George and Charlotte Spiller's daughter. She was not the Elizabeth in question, her parents' names being James and Anstice. That was the only birth record I could find for Elizabeth Spiller born in 1852.
I have found an Elizabeth Spiller on the 1861 Census for Wrantage, North Curry. She is aged 9 and living with her mother Charlotte who is widowed, and her sister, also named Charlotte, aged 27.
Unfortunately, I have found no other records of the births of George and Charlotte's other children to enable me to find out Charlotte's maiden name. Any ideas pleeeeese?!

Hello again Deb,

There are so many William Spillers. Do you mean Charlotte senior's husband? If so, I have a copy of his Death Certificate (at least I hope it's his!) He died on 23 December 1858 in Rock, North Curry, aged 55. The informant was Harriet Basket, present at death, also from Rock, North Curry.

Hi MMM

ummm why is there no birth reg for Benjamin circa 1838 ...I will have a look on the complete index....

nother thing ...in 1841 they have a son William , 1 yr...he must have died as in 1851 they have another William aged 2

have you followed Charlotte snr's children ..as their children may give us a clue as to her maiden name ....

let me know what you have and from there we can start looking ...

Sorry Deb, I think it's time I went to bed! You are right, Charlotte was married to William. George was my gt, gt grandfather married to Harriet.

I only have a note of the birth record for Betsey which you also kindly gave me. Unfortunately I found no other records for the other children.

Hello again,

I have now obtained a copy of the Birth Certificate of Betsey Spiller, William and Charlotte's daughter, born on 6 July 1846. Charlotte's maiden name was 'Hayer'. Any info on her family would be much appreciated.
