Sorry I never know enough about other countries' or states' registration system.
BUT would not the death certificate have shown place of burial.

Here is an example of the information given on an English death certificate at that time :)

Thank you. I was speaking out of ignorance.

Some states in Australia give place and date of burial,
Undertaker, witnesses of burial etc. As well as parents of deceased etc etc
Often the Funeral director placed a notice in the local paper.
Free advertising for him/her and all part of the service
but often charged back to the family.
Some of the notices mention means of transporting the body
eg by rail from .... or motor funeral.

I like your blue roan. Parents bred Cocker spaniels.

I realised that you were probably going by Australian certificates, they are certainly more helpful to the family historian than those in the UK.
