My Great uncle says he was born at Chelsea Barracks and his father was a Drum Major
how can I find out more about the Chelsea Barracks and what regiment he was in. His name is Allan Drake.
Any help gratefully received.

Hi

If you get the birth certificate to confirm the story (I assume he was born after 1837), it may have the father's regiment on it.  It should have his occupation and residence at least.

Once you have the exact date of birth, you may be able to find out which regiment(s) were stationed there at the time.

If he was born prior to 1837 then the same will apply to baptism record - it just may list the regiment.

Try "googling" chelsea barracks history

Best wishes
