Our Edward is the brother of your Susan
Our Edward married Mary Anne O'Grady in  April 1888
They had five children. Mary Anne died, at or soon after the fifth child was born.
Edward married again in 1897 Mary Anne Cotterill. They had three children by 1911. All the children of the first marriage were gone by this time.
I have the names of all, along with birth date and baptism record of the first five.
I have found three of these in the 1911 census.
Our Susan only re-appears in 1918 in Belfast. Edward John I havent found again - yet

Asyou know there were two Edward Dowzards in the census. One is a policeman - I haven't found a link yet. Just to confuse things he was also amrried to a wife called Mary Ann.
So there were two Edwards and three Mary Annes to work out.

Edward John was born 18 Dec 1890, bapt. 2 Jan 1891. No further info.
Katherine was born 13 Oct 1892, bapt. 6 Nov 1892. In 1911, she is listed at the household  of George Ball. (but scored out !)
Annie Gertrude was born 19 Nov 1895, bapt. 15 Dec 1895. In 1911, she was working at the Household of William Young. There is an Annie G. Dowzard living at 111 Granville Rd, Portadown in 1959

Thank you
Have printed details off and will take them to see my Father-in-law tomorrow..
I am sure his dad is the Edward John born 18/12/1890.
He was a ship master Working up and down the east coast of australia.
He died  27/8/1934  and was burried in Tweed Heads NSW
He had 1 son to his first marriage.... funnly enough called him.......  Edward John Dowzard and his wife Mary Teresa (Keleher) died giving birth to a baby girl, who also died in 1922.
1890 Edward, then had two sons to his second wife (not sure of her name) Richard & Terry Dowzard.
1917 Edward- named his firs son EJ  we will call him 1940 Ted  who named his son EJ - refer to him as 1964 Ted and he named his son EJ - and we will refer to him as 1990 Ned.

Confusing as all hell.... i wish they could think of another name!!
But Thanks for the links ... it is very interesting
Regards

this is a picture of our Susan , with two daughters, husband, and two elderly ladies we think were known as Cosie and Doozie. Do you think that either of them could belong to your side?

Thank you for the picture!
I'm afraid I am not aware of the 2 older ladies.
Edward does have a familiar look. I never knew Susan Dowzard, my gt gr mother, she died in 1882.
