Wartime Service

I recently discovered my father ( Alex )whom I never knew ,  in 1947 was listed as Assistant Chief Warden,Control Commission Germany ( civilian ) at the Wynches Camp, Gosport where he met my mother,a PO Wren.
I know that subsequently in the 50s he was a regular soldier, at least sergeant. It was supposed he served in post war Germany near Dortmund.

Anyone out there any clues as to the regiment involved or the job at the camp
which I assume was looking after German internees
