Hi Mosh,
If they were framework knitters there's a chance that the Ruddington Framework Knitters Museum might have some information on the family. I was told they've done some detailed work in researching those who lived in the area.

There is also a very good local history museum which has many transcribed records. The contact was Gavin Walker - if you 'google' Ruddington, Notts you may come up with a contact address - they may be able to help.

(Wil check what details I have but may take a while.)

Quick look on IGI refs show a William Stubbs married Margaret Gunn 7th Feb 1774.
There are several baptisms - so definitely STUBBS in Ruddington to confuse - William seems to be a popular name!!!!

Hi Mosh,
I was looking for information on my Hall family from Hoveringham, and came upon this wonderful site.
http://www.markwoodward.net/Settlement.html
To my surpise I saw it had the name William Stubbs, listed under the Ruddington names.
STUBBS William SC from Bunny, 1764.
Thought it might be of interest to you.
