where is the Hindoo Centre

I have two ancestors born in the British East Indies C.1810.One Benjamin Felton is listed as being born in the Hindoo Centre.I would like to know which Presidency this might be.Any info. would be much appreciated.

Not sure if this helps you but going by his details in the UK 1881 census. The enumerator probably spelt Hindu wrong.

The use of the spelling Hindoo is from the 20th C. 18th and 19th C. maps are always written Hindoostan. Traditionally before that it was always Hindoo and still today the spelling is used in the UK equally with Hindu. 8)
