World War Service Record
« on: Thursday 03 January 08 01:13 GMT (UK) »
Happy New Year to all!
Am looking at the Service Record of a WW1 Vet. and am having trouble with the following references; they appear from 1918 through to 1919.

Dreel Castle (Shrewsbury)
Gunner (")
Ganges (")
Attentive II (")

The word in the bracket looks like Shrewsbury - but I can not work out why?

Later in 1920 the following appears
Columbine (Whitley)

Can someone clarify these references for me - are they ships or Landbases - I believe that the 4 above were Landbases.

Thanks
Ashe :-\

Hi ashenique !

I believe if you can give some dates when he was stationed at each - someone will be able to tell you where these were located.

Hi Ashe:

Sorry I dont have an answer, but a possible solution.

I had the same problem as you, and found a website that told me everything I needed.

They have a lot of posters who are real experts on WW1, so I hope they can give you your answers.
