Hirdman
« on: Friday 04 January 08 14:27 GMT (UK) »
I have been trying to trace the deaths of my ancestors Jane Ann Hirdman (nee Burton) and her husband William Hirdman

I have looked right through the deaths for 60 years and have only found a few Hirdman entries, but I cannot find theres.

Does anybody elde have an Hirdman in there past.

Unfortunately Jane and Williams 3 children all died before having children of there own, therefore ending the Hirdman line in my ancestry,

The deaths have probably been incorectly indexed, have you tried Hurdman, Herdman?

hello stan

After spending hours this afternoon looking for hirdman deaths in all different spellings I have eventually found a marriage for Jane in 1910 under the surname Hindman.  She married a Thomas kidd . Then died in 1924 and Kidd was a much easier surname to trace.

But still havnt found her first husbands death .  But will keep trying.

I have information for you - Hirdman families, actually Joseph Hirdman the illegitimate child of Elizabeth Hirdman was born in 1822 at North Otterington, near Northallerton. Joseph moved to County Durham had daughters and a son William born 1869 at Fatfield, married to Jane Ann Burton 1898 at Middlesbrough and had 2 daughters and a son all died.
