Marriage Query
« on: Monday 07 January 08 16:23 GMT (UK) »
 Hi all,
I have finally after 2 years of looking I think come across the marriage between my ggrandparents. Their ages are a little out but father's names and occupations fully match so I have no problem there. My problem however, is that on the birth of their first child a year previous to their marriage, my ggrandmother has already stated that she's married, her former name being mentioned. Her father was a Wesleyan Preacher for the Ruthin/Corwen circuit at the time (marriage took place in 1896), though I don't think he was Ordained. Would he have been able to marry them at all and they then had to have an official ceremony? It puzzles me.

Kind Regards
Nerys
