My pop was Arthur Harold Geale (died in 98) and my nan was Veronica Geale (died in 2010 on her birthday funnily enough)
I am Jessica, my maiden name is Geale. My father is John geale  :)

Hi Jess,

I knew both your Nan & Pop, you and I are 2nd cousins.  I was at your Pop's 80th birthday party in I think 1993. Aunty Vonnie was a lovely lady. My grandma was your pop's sister Mary.

:)

I remember going to visit Aunty Mary when I was a kid!
That makes you and my dad first cousins, obviously.. Haha
Such a small world, I can't believe I came across this thread. I was actually thinking about a story pop used to tell me about how he helped build the harbour bridge so I was doing some googling and came across this!
Do you remember my mum too? Her names Maria. If you want you can add me on Facebook.. I think you can search for me via email: (*)

Hey Jess,

Yeah, that's right, my Dad and your Dad are first cousins. I remember your Dad from Uncle Arthur's 80th but not so much other than that, I don't really remember your Mum but the name Maria is familiar. Your Nan was lovely, she bought my kids some fairy tale books a year or two before she died. Do you remember Aunty Glad?

Hi Amanda,

I am writing a family history book that will be listing the Geales as a Bolin family descendant marries into the Geale family.

I was interested in your comment of Edward Geale being a captain of the Whampoa... My great grandfather, Wilfred Stephens travelled on this ship with his regiment to Fiji in 1875 to survey the new capital of Fiji.... His granddaughter married a Bolin descendant, being my grandparents...

A Ruse/Kiss family member of the early 1850s was also a witness to the marriage of George Bolin & Mary Ann Thomas in Sydney..  What a lot of coincidences we have here...

Would love to hear from you
