It also shows other births for the couple, a John, Julia, Isabella, & Thomas...
Isabella has an extracted file...

Strange, as I used the batch number for that file, and all the Armstong listings were female only.... batch # C118144

Yes, odd about that batch just giving females.
I have now found the information On Robert A* born Prior Hill on the IGI. I am also looking at other Armstrong's who emmigrated to America as suggested and there does seem to be a couple more from Scotland.

But they will take some time getting the information together and then tracing.

Any other help and suggestions gratefully received

Amazingly I have found Robert Armstrong - he had emigrated to Canada then Michigan US around 1860.
I found him through DNA matches.
