Pilsworth
« on: Tuesday 15 January 08 18:32 GMT (UK) »
Here's another little mystery to get your teeth into.......not on the epic scale of the marrage mystery but here goes........

My grandfather was born in 1902, Arthur Pilsworth, Thorne June qtr 9c 914.

His mother was unmarried at the time. She was 18. Her name was Hannah Mary Pilsworth, born dec qtr 1884 Thorne, 9c 765. What I wanted to know is, can you see any reference to her on any census? I would love to find out who her parents were, and who her brothers and sisters were. My grandad never knew his father but there was a rumour as to who it was......and his name was Arthur too....so did she name him after his dad or after her father as was tradition. She married a Henry Whitehead in 1904 but my grandad kept Pilsworth as his surname.

Thanks

Diane

Hi and thanks thats brill!!!

These are on my mothers side and we never thought we would find anything!!! My granddad Pilsworth married Daisy Ingamells born june qtr 1902 thorne 9c 893. Her mum and dad were Elizabeth Ann hepworth born dec qtr 1874 Thorne, and Edward Cheavin Ingamells Born doncaster 1875. They married in june qtr 1901. Can you see anything for them, either Hepworths or Ingamells that would relate to this couple???

Thanks alot
