Maps
« on: Monday 29 March 04 12:14 BST (UK) »
Hi

Have really got into researching my family history but i have one problem ..... i am unable to find a good quality map of the areas to download.

I have ancestors from Devon, Warwickshire, Yorkshire and Northumberland and have no idea of the distances between them so i am looking for a map of all of England as well as maps of the different areas.

The ones i have found are hard to read if any one has any suggestions where to look for these maps i would appreciate it.  :)

Thanks

Jaki

I use www.streetmap.co.uk for day to day use as you can zoom in or out on the area you are searching.  There is also a big arrow to help locate the street on the map which helps if it is very busy.

Another usefull site is http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/planner_main.jsp
You can type where you are and where you want to travel to and it tells you the mileage and the time it would take to travel.
