I note your Frederick Eldon HILL was aged about 38 yrs when he married Emily.

Just wondered if the following may have been an earlier marriage for him ?

   >    Georgina GALL
   >    Year - 1892         [Folio # 2171]

[*  Spelt as "Frederic" on marriage index]

Also spotted a number of other HILL grooms for various years, who also had the "Eldon" christian name - perhaps related to your Frederick ?      Give a "yell" if you'd like these details also?

Hi Lu, Thanks for the info.  You are on the ball and quick as well.

Frederick Eldon W. Hill is the father of Frederick Eldon Hill.  Frederick Eldon could possibly  have been married before if you can dig out any info on that  please it  would be appreciated.  Maybe there is a divorce somewhere before he married Emily if that was him.

Also I would love if possible any information you have on other Hill grooms with the name Eldon in as they would be connected I am sure.

These marriage references (and other information) are given to perhaps assist you in your search.      Any "digging",  now needs to be done by you !

As to possible divorce  .... you may find something at Archway (Archives NZ) site - (see link provided earlier).

Consider also, that the first spouse may well have died ?
If you know where these people lived, a search of cemetery records for the area is a good idea.

Perhaps read through the "Resources for Genealogists" section  -  found at the start of this NZ board.    You'll find lots of info there and ideas for places to search.

Lu, Thanks Have established Frederick Eldon Hill is buried at Taupiri Cemetary and Emily Hill is buried at Waihi Cemetary.  Just thought maybe somebody looking at this site may be related and can provide information as to what he did in his life.  Nobody I know seems to know anything at all about him.
