Yorkshire Brickwall re location name

Please any kind person help surmount Mount Everest rather than brickwall.

Looking for SHELL EDGE  Yorkshire as location of baptism.

Family moved around from Yorkshire to Northumberland and back.

I can't really help but I know Hade Edge in the West Riding and also a Harrop Edge in Cheshire, they are usually the Edge of a ridge - I think the Shell therefore could refer to a coastal place.

Which family & when? what record(s) state Shell edge?

If memory doesn't desert me isn't there a Shelley which is near Kirkburton,
I know from looking for baptisms myself it was sometimes referred to as Bank End Shelley and Hilltop Shelley.

A baptism entry St Michaels Church Alnwick Northumberland for a John George Kirk 1801 against parents George Kirk and Frances (nee Dudney) it gave Shell Edge Yorkshire and Dublin Ireland.

Several of the Kirk family left Sheffield for Northumberland and then some returned to Sheffield
I have a Marriage for George and Frances c 1779 at Northumberland which haven't been able to confirm, no record at Alnwick.  Both George and Frances worked at Alnwick Castle from about 1779 to early 1800's.

So "Shell Edge" is the stated parish for the father at this 1801 baptism.
And the father's family are associated with Sheffield.
This infers that the region to concentrate on would also be around Sheffield...

How clear is the baptism record?;
before we set off on a wild goose chase is there any possibility that they record could be interpreted as 'Sheffield".
