Derby - Raynes

Can anyone solve this puzzle please.

Willie Raynes born about 1873 at  Derby "Sorters" according to the 1901 census, is Coal Miner.
Married 1895 at Whittington, father shown as Emmanuel Raynes, Engine Tenter.

I have so far been unable to find neither him nor his father on the 1881 nor 1891 census and the only information on FreeBMD, shows a Willie  Raynes 1873 March Qt. at Rotherham.

I hope some one can help?

1901 - is this the chap married to a Martha ?

His PoB looks like Lorton, Derbyshire.


Willie may well be a diminutive, have you looked for William ?

Thank you for that info. had tried various permutations, looks like not gone far enough.

Willie on marr. cert married to Martha and Chas Edward was witness, will try 1881 now.
