Link: A Sussex sect - the Cokelers
« on: Thursday 31 January 08 19:05 GMT (UK) »
The origin of the name Cokelers is not certain. Some sources suggest that it refers to the members' custom of drinking cocoa, as refreshment provided at their meetings. There are some other sources who suggest the name was derived from a place called Cokkeg, in the village of Loxwood, where the sect was formed. http://cokelers.living.org.uk/index.htm The sect ran a series of co-operative shops and built a number of small chapels in Sussex.
