Hi Tunjilees

It is hard to make out the witnesses' names. The date of registration was 1913, December 1st by the look of it. To get precise names, why don't you email SP re an illegible image www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/contactus/form.aspx?issue=24

They used to send out a paper copy of the cert that was easier to read. Nowadays, they will rescan the section that is hard to read and send it to you via email within a few days of your enquiry.  Provide full GRO refs for the image you have viewed and the section you are unable to decipher.

Regards.

Monica  :)

Still struggling, but I'd have said Christina's maiden surname was probably McEwan?

Hi all,

I agree with McEwan. The IGI shows a marriage for Christian McEwan to Thomas Lees (1st September 1873 in Dysart, Fife). There's also one birth showing; John Hunter Lees, born 24th November 1874 (mother's surname as McEwen).

For the witness' names, I'd have said - Gabriel and Christina Colville?

. . . and one witness looks like Emile Gabriel.

If scotlandspeople do send you a transcript please let us know - I'll be puzzling over these names all night!

Thank you all.

I sent an e-mail along to ScotlandsPeople as MonicaLesl suggested, and if I get sent a transcript, then I'll be sure to post it as soon as I receive it lesleyhannah =).

Wow thanks for the census lookup hume24, where did you find that? Do you have any idea if the other parents/maiden name are correct?

They are from Ancestry, so any mistakes you may spot in my posts are down to their transcription services. ;D

I agree with what has been said about the parents' names (Thomas L/Christina McEwan and David C/Margaret Hunter), and now that you have approximate birth years and places for William and Helen, you should be able to get their birth certificates from ScotlandsPeople to confirm. :)
