Can anyone find where Henry Lees b. Fife, Collessie is in 1841? That might help piece some things together.

Thanks

PS: I started a thread in the immigration section with the hope obtaining help in looking into the Irish ancestry of the Lees family: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,284512.0.html

Just a suggestion....

It might be better to put this post up on the general Ireland board rather than immigrants board where people with Irish resources will hopefully be able to help.

Regards.

Thanks, I created a post on the General Ireland board.
It seems to be more active than the Immigration board and I may get more help there.

There is one marriage showing on IGI (nightmare of a surname to track due to variants/mistranscriptions  ;D)

ANNE LEES  Marriages:Spouse:PATRICK MCGEENTY
Marriage: 11 SEP 1842  Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland

I consulted this record on SP in the hope of there being mention of an Oliver, however it said Anne Lees was the daughter of a Patrick Lees, labourer... I'm not sure where this leaves me.  ::)

On another note, perhaps this should be moved to Midlothian? Or General?

From the 1861 census, it looks like Oliver Lees may have died and Isabella has remarried:

John Hunter 25, Gas Work Labourer, b. Ross Hill, Perthshire
Isabella Hunter 28, b. St Cuthbert, Edinburgh
Oliver Lees 13, b. Church, Twn, (Edinburgh?)
Thomas Lees 8, b. Church, Twn, (Edinburgh?)
Elsia Hunter 2, b. Church, Twn, (Edinburgh?)

Address: 268 Cannongate Hapes Land, Canongate, Edinburgh Old Church

The marriage:

JOHN HUNTER  Marriages: ISABELLA WALDIE
Marriage:  13 DEC 1859  Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland

Just came across this thread, John Hunter and Isabella Waldie are my 3rd great grandparents 👍
