run over by a train in kilmarnock

Hi im doing my family tree, and came across my great grandfathers, death certificate and on it, says he was run over, by a train and killed, in kilmarnock, in 1915. his name was Robert Mcallister of cumnock,married to Catherine Mcallister M.S Mcginney..if anyone has any information on this . i would be gratefull. many thanks Rob Mullen

Hi Rob:

Why don't you try and find a copy of the inquest report. It should have been written up in the local newspaper. I found the one for my grgrgrandfather in 1871 in Lancashire.

Hi thanks Anne, yeah ive tried doing that, but cant find any links to the paper,all iget is casualty list etc from the war, again thanks, Rob

You may have these details already,

They were married 25th June 1897 in St John's Chapel in the parish of Old Cumnock Ayr.
I will send more details by PM.

Thanks for the replies. i didnt have that info on his wedding., i do know that, this was his 2nd marriage, his 1st was to mary thomas in 1884, she died in 1893 aged 26.were im stuck on this side of my tree is roberts ggrandfather bernard mcalister,dob? dod? place of birth etc. he was married to a Agnes Brown again no idea of her details..thanks for the help you guys give on here...Rob  ;)
