Thanks again for going to all this trouble for me.

I've just had a look at a direct descendant of Thomas & Margaret GALLEY nee BARBER's  Tree on Genes Reunited and she gives the church as the Parish Church, Garston (25 Dec 1886).
I had been going on the info on LancashireBMD saying it was St Michael's, Wavertree.

If I can do anything to help you in your research, please just ask.

Ah ha 

there is a St Michael's Church in Garston. In fact it was where I was married.

I will have a look next time I go, np.

I have found the other marriage, it was St Michaels, Garston 

Married on 25th December 1886.

Groom: Thomas Galley, 23, bachelor, Iron Moulder, 27 Seddon Rd, Garston. Father, William Galley, Iron Planer.
Bride: Margaret Barber: 23, 1 Shakespear Street, Garston. Father, Peter Barber, Carter.
Witnesses: Thomas Forrest and Elizabeth Barber.

All signed own names, except Margaret.

I ran out of time when I was there, but next time I go, I will get the copies for you that I promised.
